At Kjarstad, you can enjoy an excellent standard of home from home self-catering accommodation in a quiet residential area of Orkney's main town, Kirkwall. Much more spacious than the average self-catering property, it is a former family home, immaculately maintained by it's owners (who still visit frequently) and offers an ideal central base from which to enjoy your holiday in Orkney.

Centrally located, Kjarstad is in a great location for exploring all areas of mainland Orkney or island-hopping by ferry or air. The local airport is approximately 4 miles away and ferry services to the mainland of Scotland can be reached within 20 minutes.
Ideal for families, it's only a few minutes walk from a playpark and the local swimming pool. A pleasant 10 minute walk will lead you directly to the picturesque harbour and marina or the historic town centre which is dominated by the beautiful red sandstone St Magnus Cathedral.
Guests should be aware that there are 3 steps at both entrances and we would also advise that there is a strict no smoking policy and that pets are not allowed.
